Great news for Indonesian, since 1st July 2009, Australia has permitted Indonesian to work and study using Working Holiday Visa (WHV). It is part of the Free Trade Agreement which was inked in 3rd March 2009 in Thailand and the program is reciprocal between Indonesia and Australia.
What makes WHV so special?
WHV allows inexperience Indonesian youngster to work in any low positions available in Australia such as waitress, fruit picker, farm workers, shopkeeper etc which recently many inquiries have been made to Binamandiri for such opportunity.
Who is eligible to apply WHV ?
WHV is available for all male and female Indonesian youngsters age 18 – 30 years old, still single and graduates from University. The idea of WHV is more on Cultural Exchange Program for Indonesian youngsters to know more about Australia Culture while they can work casually and temporary to support their life in Australia.
What are WHV type and characteristic?
WHV for Indonesia is Work and Holiday Visa Sub Class 462. The visa will be granted for one year stay in Australia and cannot be extended for any reasons. The visa allows the barrier to work up to 6 (six) months for each employer and study for up to 4 (four) months. Each person can apply for one time only for his entire life. WHV cannot be used for working in long term period. Each period of employment must be not more than 6 months and each employment must be broke with holiday or study before you can work again.
For long term period of employment, the candidate must apply using Visa 457 or State Sponsorship visa.
What are the requirements?
The main requirements to get WHV are :
1. Must be age 18 – 30 years old, male or female
2. Graduates from University
3. Never been granted WHV previously
4. Have access of sufficient fund which approximately AUD 5.000 or IDR 45 million
5. Must have functional English capability
6. One year return ticket to Australia
